What is a trullo?

I don’t want to say why my mother choose this name… it is another story.

Ok..go on…I was saying: I’m italian and I live in a little village called Coreggia, just 3 km from the Capital of ones of the most famous houses in the World called TRULLI (plural).

But. What is a trullo? 
A TRULLO is an house made of stone, just stone, in a strange way…it has a cone roof…do you know what I mean? Watch the picture then. Ok. That is a trullo. The story is long, but about 300 years ago, the people of this area started to build this houses. Do you know why? Guess! It’s easy! To evoid paying house taxes (this is not a news).
In that period there was the King of Naple. So the people, clever like a fox, used to built a trullo, because just taking off the main stone on the door, the trullo collapsed so that, when the troopers of the king came to gather the house taxes, the people “alberobellesi”, showing the pile of stones, used to say: “We haven’t any house!
